In shocking news, ‘The Trial’ fame Noor Malabika Das was found dead in her flat in Mumbai on June 6, 2024. The Mumbai police recovered the body of the actor and reports claim that Noor died by suicide. However, an official confirmation on the matter is yet to be made. Reportedly, Noor hanged herself from the ceiling fan in her bedroom. Upon checking the apartment, the police collected the actor’s medicines, her mobile phone, and a diary. The police took the actor’s body to Goregaon’s Siddharth Hospital for autopsy, and the last rites were performed by police on Sunday, June 9.

Who was Noor Malabika Das?

Noor Malabika Das was known for her social media presence. Noor hailed from Assam and also tried her luck in acting. She featured in various films and web series, including ‘Siskiyaan,’ ‘Walkaman,’ ‘Teekhi Chatni,’ ‘Jaghanya Upaya,’ ‘Charamsukh,’ ‘Dekhi Andekhi,’ ‘Backroad Hustle,’ and more. Interestingly, Noor also shared screen space with Kajol in Jisshu Sengupta’s ‘The Trial.’

Noor had a decent following of 163K on Instagram. She often posted pictures and videos on her feed. In May 2023, Noor shared a photo with ‘Anupamaa’ actor Sudhanshu Pandey and wrote, “Starting of Mumbai journey 2018… one of my favourite & great actors (friend) One & only Pandey Jee. I still love this song ‘Tu Hi Mera Pyar Gori.'”

Meanwhile, following Noor’s sudden death, the Indian Cinema Workers Association has appealed to Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Home Minister Devendra Fadnavis to conduct an inquiry into the matter.

On Monday, a news agency tweeted, “The body of actress Noor Malabika Das was recovered in a decomposed condition in her house in Andheri, Oshiwara area. Noor Malabika Das died by suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling fan of the house. When the people in the neighbourhood complained of a foul smell coming from the house, they informed the police. The police reached the spot and took the body for postmortem: Mumbai Police (sic).”
