The 2023 ODI World Cup drew to a close on Sunday with Australia clinching a record sixth title, with a six-wicket win over India. Travis Head emerged as the Player of the Match in the final with a century to steer the Aussies to a comfortable victory.

For India, it continued the trophy drought in ICC tournaments with their last big-ticket win coming at the 2013 Champions Trophy. Since then, India have been unable to lift any of Champions Trophy, ODI World Cup, T20 World Cup or World Test Championships.
