Yash Dayal ‘felt bad’ after dismissing MS Dhoni in crucial final over during CSK vs RCB IPL 2024 match

New Delhi: Left-arm pacer Yash Dayal revealed he had a large weight off his shoulders the moment MS Dhoni got out against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at some stage within the virtual quarter-final with Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in IPL 2024. Both teams were being affected by for the last remaining playoff spot; therefore, the match went the total way down to the wire since CSK needed 17 to qualify and 35 to win within the final over with Dhoni on strike against Dayal.

Former CSK skipper MS Dhoni got a six off the primary ball of the final over but Yash Dayal quick-wittedly spoke back with a slower ball, sending Dhoni back to the pavilion on the 2d ball of the over. This wicket at this juncture made up our minds the effect of the game as RCB went on to win the match by 27 runs, thereby no longer allowing CSK to reach their qualification target and RCB within the process settling the spot within the playoffs.

Talking to Jatin Sapru on the ‘Roaring with the Lions’ show, Yash Dayal revealed that he was once left conflicted by MS Dhoni’s dismissal since it was once most surely going to be Dhoni’s last game. He said it bothered him slightly since it was once Dhoni, one amongst of the greats, who he brushed off.

“I felt bad after brushing off him. Because I don’t know or care what people say but the frustration with which he left the ground, it was once such as you don’t know whether he'll return or no longer. Will we ever see him again on the ground. It was once a moment where a variety of things were going through my head. I got a breather, slightly bit of relief,” Yash Dayal said (via YouTube).

Dhoni was once brushed off for 25 off 13 deliveries. Mystery still remains to be regarding his return for yet another IPL season.
