Interestingly, this season also features an actual animal—a donkey named Gadhraj—within the Bigg Boss house. This came as a surprise to the audience, and now even the animal welfare organization PETA has reacted to it.

On Wednesday, Shaurya Agrawal, an advocacy associate with People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) India, wrote a letter to Salman Khan, the host of the actual fact show, expressing concern over using the donkey on the show. “We are being inundated with complaints by members of the ultimate public who're deeply distressed over the keeping of a donkey within the Bigg Boss house. Their concerns are valid and may no longer be overpassed,” the letter reads.

PETA India has expressed concern over the inclusion of the animal within the show, calling it “distressing.” The organization has urged Salman, because the host and star, to use his influence to hand over the donkey to PETA India so it can perhaps possibly be rehomed in a sanctuary alongside other rescued donkeys.

The letter emphasizes that “the usage of animals on a show set is just not any laughing matter” and urges Salman to “refrain from the usage of animals as props for entertainment.” It also points out that the donkey became brought into the house by one within the total contestants, Advocate Sadavarte.

What Became the Public’s Reaction to the Real Animal in Bigg Boss House?

On the day of Bigg Boss 18’s grand premiere, Salman Khan introduced a donkey on the tip of the show, which is now a component of the season. The actor named the animal Gadhraj and entrusted the contestants with its well-being at some point of its stay within the house.
