The Indian Weather Forecast Department is sending out heads-up for a torrential downpour lined up for 26th and 27th of May. The prediction hints at mild to moderate rains in most areas while few isolated coastal regions of West Bengal and adjoining parts of North Odisha might bear the brunt of the heavy to immensely severe rainfall. Concurrently, Mizoram, Tripura, and Southern Manipur are also expected to see a pattern of light to moderate rains. However, severe rainfall isn’t entirely ruled out in a few isolated areas there as well.

Cyclone Remal: Wind Warning

The situation is expected to escalate and spread to the northern parts of the Bay by the evening of May 24th. The sea’s temperament will likely deteriorate and become excessively agitated in the central Bay of Bengal in the early hours of May 25th, further intensifying to dangerous levels in the North Bay from the evening of May 25th, lasting till May 27th’s dawn, as per the IMD’s forecast. Coastal regions of Bangladesh, West Bengal, along with the nearby area of northern Odisha, are bracing for an encounter with turbulent sea conditions beginning on the evening of May 25th.
