New Delhi: D Gukesh and Tania Sachdev recreated Rohit Sharma’s T20 World Cup 2024 celebration dance as the Indian men and girls reigned supreme at the Chess Olympiad in Budapest on Sunday. While the Indian men defeated Slovenia, their female counterparts dominated Azerbaijan to take hold of maiden gold medals at the Chess Olympiad. Indian men had earlier won two bronze – in 2014 and 2022 while the girls had won a bronze within the 2022 edition in Chennai.

In a video, that has long past viral on social media, Gukesh and Tania come dancing from opposite ends, imitating the Indian cricket captain with their respective men’s and girls’s trophies. Upon coming in front of the rostrum where the opposite Indians were waiting, both Gukesh and Tania hand over their trophies to their teammates earlier than everyone gets right into a celebratory mood.
