Manchester: After an average season with Manchester United, manager Erik ten Hag is all set to remain at Old Trafford for the upcoming season following a performance review of the Dutchman carried out by the Premier League giants, according to reports on Tuesday. Although Manchester United finished eighth in 2023-24 Premier League, the Red Devils saved their face with an FA Cup triumph. However, speculations were rife that Ten Hag might be replaced next season.

With the former Ajax boss’ contract set to expire next summer, negotiations over a contract extension have reportedly begun between the two parties. Before the season-ending FA Cup final, reports suggested that Ten Hag would be sacked regardless of the match’s outcome.

As per the latest tweet by Fabrizio Romano, Ten Hag is focussed on the Manchester United project at the moment. “Erik ten Hag, happy with INEOS decision — no personal issues despite long review, he’s only focused on Man United project.

“His role in developing youngsters like Mainoo and Garnacho has been key factor… as INEOS want to keep following that way. ‘Trust young players,” Romano posted on X.
