Farida Jalal remembers the time when Amitabh Bachchan-Jaya Bachchan were dating, says 'They would pick me up for coffee'

Veteran actress Farida Jalal has been a part of the entertainment industry for several decades. From playing Shah Rukh Khan’s mother in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai to the beloved Nani from Shararat, she has brought every character to life with utmost perfection.

During her long tenure as an actor, she has shared screen space with many big wigs from Bollywood such as Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan. It is believed that Farida Jalal has been good friends with the Bachchans since Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan’s courtship period. Recently, the actress shared an anecdote from their time together.

Farida Jalal On Long Drives With Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan

During a recent interaction with Rajshri Unplugged, Farida Jalal talked about her equation with Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan. She revealed that she enjoys a very old relationship with ‘Amitji’ and even an older one with Jaya. The actress further claimed that they have a lot of love for each other even today. She continued that even though they don’t meet that often now, it has not affected the love they share for each other.

Farida Jalal also took a trip down memory lane and shared details regarding her time with the two legendary stars. “I remember when Amitabh and Jaya were in the midst of their courtship days before getting married. They would pick me up from my house in Pali Hills at night and we’d go for a drive to have coffee at Taj.”

For the unaware, Farida Jalal has collaborated with Amitabh Bachchan in films like Majboor, Yaarana and Ganga Ki Saugand. On the other hand, she worked with Jaya Bachchan in ventures such as Naya Din Nai Raat. The actress shared the screen with both of them in the 2001 flick Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham.

Even at the age of 80, Amitabh Bachchan is one of the busiest actors in Bollywood. His professional lineup includes the forthcoming action thriller, Ganapath. Helmed by Vikas Bahl, the movie will see the Heropanti pair Tiger Shroff and Kriti Sanon as the leads.
