The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has stated that it has prepared 125 beds at municipal hospitals in the city in the event that any 'Govinda,' a person who forms a human pyramid as part of a collective activity during the Dahi Handi festival, is hurt during the act.

On Thursday, Dahi Handi will be observed in Mumbai and other areas of Maharashtra. It is part of the Krishna Janmashtami celebration, which commemorates Lord Krishna's birth day. During the celebration, Govindas construct a human pyramid to smash a hung 'dahi handi' (curd pot).
