Ganapath box office collection: Tiger Shroff delivers his lowest opener of all time
Tiger Shroff, Kriti Sanon and Amitabh Bachchan starrer Ganapath: A Hero is Born, which released yesterday, has opened to a disastrous response at the box office. Despite being a typical massy entertainer with all the ingredients of a masala potboiler, the film failed to create any kind of curiosity and as a result, it minted only around Rs 2.50 crore on its opening day at the box office.
Tiger Shroff’s last release Heropanti 2 had earned Rs 6.50 crore on its first day while Baaghi 3 opened with Rs 17 crore at the box office. His biggest opener till date remains War costarring Hrithik Roshan, which collected Rs 53.35 crore on its first day.
Ganapath arrived with Thalapathy Vijay starrer Leo, which collected over Rs 145 crore on its opening day at the global box office.
Talking about the review, Firstpost gave the film 3.5 stars and wrote, “While the story will remind you of the typical 90s era, what keeps you hooked is Tiger’s action-packed avatar. Vikas makes sure to give us several whistle-worthy moments, which will make all the audience clap and hoot, especially in the mass centres.
Talking about the performances, Tiger Shroff rules the screen in his action-packed avatar. Special mention about the scenes, where we see his grey shade, which he nails with ease and finesse. Kriti Sanon is in top perform. Right from showcasing her kickass action avatar with Nunchaku to some of the beautiful emotional moments, the gorgeous actress delivers a top-notch act. Her chemistry with Tiger is definitely one of the biggest highlights of the film. Rehman and Ziad Bakri as Shiva and John English are superb. And last but definitely not the least, Amitabh Bachchan’s cameo, who makes it memorable with his strong screen presence.”
