Heeramandi Actress Sharmin Segal to Star in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Love & War’ Post Criticism?
Sanjay Leela Bhansali's epic saga 'Love & War' has roped in Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal and Ranbir Kapoor. If the latest reports are to be believed Heeramandi actress Sharmin Segal will also feature in the film.
Love & War: Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor, and Vicky Kaushal are collaborating with Sanjay Leela Bhansali for Love & War. The Bhansali Productions announced the romantic saga at the beginning of the year. While the film brings Bhansali and Kapoor together after 17 years, the latter’s wife is reuniting after the success of the 2022 film Gangubai Kathiawadi. Now the latest report on Reddit claims that Heeramandi actress Sharmin Segal is going to be a part of her uncle Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film. Yes, you read that right. Scroll down to read more.
Sharmin Segal certainly became well-known with SLB’s debut series Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar. Some internet users have called her acting mediocre and described her as expressionless. Sharmin decided to turn off the Instagram comment section after getting a lot of backlash. The actor, who came under the radar for her below-par performance, will reportedly share the screen with Alia, Ranbir and Vicky.
A Reddit user said, “My friend recently came in contact with someone who works with slb and the source confirmed that Sharmin Segal is going to be a part of ‘Love & War.’ They were expecting Heeramandi to be a massive success and Sharmin being talk of the town but alas all there hopes are dashed post the debacle. Everyone working on this project had doubts on her abilities but no one has the guts to say anything to SLB and now it’s up to him whether he’ll go ahead with her or not.”
The Reddit post gained prominence in no time. Social media users poured the comment section with varied opinions. One of the users wrote, “So she would be paired opposite Vicky. But then Himesh said they are planning to cast a popular actress. It looks like none of the other actresses wants to be a part of film where they are gonna get completely overshadowed by Ranbir, Alia & Vicky.” Another user wrote, “One of my bff is a dancer and she is in two major songs in Heeramandi. She told us SLB was done and dusted and super pissed off with Sharmindagi so much that he just left the sets. Also, she treats everyone on the sets as if they are lowly people. Has a very superior air about her. And ofc, she can’t move her face for heaven’s sake, looks older girl.”
Sanjay Leela Bhansali, who is widely regarded as a trailblazer in the Indian film industry, announced his epic love saga with the signatures of the confirmed cast. Love & War will hit the big screens around Christmas 2025.
