Here’s The Anti-Tesla Ad That Airs During The Super Bowl on Sunday

Elon Musk can’t be too happy with this.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk can't be happy watching the Kansas City Chiefs take on the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LVII if he sees The Dawn Project's commercial attacking Tesla's Full Self-Driving platform and calling for its ban.

The Dawn Project, whose motto is "Making Computers Safe For Humanity" by making safety-critical software systems unhackable, confronts Tesla  (TSLA) - Get Free Report head-on with a Super Bowl advertisement during the Fox TV broadcast of the game, claiming that Tesla's Full Self-Driving feature is "endangering the public with its deceptive marketing and woefully inept engineering" and suggests that it should be banned immediately.

The Super Bowl ad contains video of seven different traffic violations that a Tesla commits, presumably using Full Self-Driving, that include some that could have deadly outcomes.

Tesla Runs Wild in a Dawn Project Video

"Tesla Full Self-Driving will run down a child in a school crosswalk, swerve into oncoming traffic, hit a baby in a stroller, go straight past stopped school buses, ignore do not enter signs and even drive on the wrong side of the road," the commercial proclaims. "Tesla's Full Self-Driving is endangering the public with deceptive marketing and woefully inept engineering."

These sequences show a child test dummy being hit by a Tesla in a crosswalk, a Tesla swerving into oncoming traffic, a Tesla running over a stroller in a street, driving past a school bus with its automatic stop sign showing, driving through "Do Not Enter" signs, driving on the wrong side of the road and shows a test dummy crossing a street with a Tesla a distance away and then the car not stopping and hitting the dummy.

However, viewers are to assume the Tesla is using Full Self-Driving, as there is nothing in the video to prove that the FSD system was activated and operating at the time the video was running.

"Ninety percent agree that this should be banned immediately," the commercial says, but it doesn't state what survey the 90% agreement is based on.

The video finishes with a call out to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration in big bold white capitalized lettering, Why Does NHTSA Allow Tesla Full Self-Driving?
