After India had romped home to a nine-wicket win in the first T20I, the Women in Blue were at the receiving end of things as Kim Garth (2/27) starred in a six-wicket win in the second T20I. In that match, Shafali Verma (1) was struck LBW by Garth whereas Smriti Mandhana (23) failed to convert a start as India were restricted to 130/8 after being asked to bat first. Deepti Sharma (30) and Richa Ghosh (23) provided some middle-order resistance, but that wasn’t enough for the hosts to post a commendable total.

In reply, despite losing three quick wickets after the powerplay, Ellyse Perry (34*) and Phoebe Litchfield (18*) ensured the Aussies sealed the win with an over to spare.
