After 95 overs, India 346/7 (Dhruv Jurel 8, Ravichandran Ashwin 7)

Jurel steers a short-of-length ball from Wood behind square for a single. Ashwin follows suit a couple of deliveries later. SIX! Jurel decides to go for a ramp shot after Wood decides to fire a bouncer at 90 miles per hour! All Jurel needed was for the ball to connect with the bat. The pace on the delivery ensures the ball sails over the fence. Jurel attempts to set off for a quick single in the final delivery, but is sent back by Ashwin.

Ashwin welcomes Wood into the attack with a solid punch through the cover region off a slightly short-of-length delivery outside off. Wood responds with a snorter that forces Ashwin to arch his back to move his head out of the way. Ashwin gets off strike with a single in the penultimate delivery.

After 91 overs, India 331/7 (Dhruv Jurel 0, Ravichandran Ashwin 0)

OUT! Tame end to a superb knock from Jadeja as he ends up chipping the ball straight back to the bowler for a return catch while attempting a straight drive. Failed to keep it close to the ground, offering Root a catch at a comfortable height. Top start for the Englishmen today as they grab two wickets in as many overs. Ravichandran Ashwin joins Dhruv Jurel at the centre, both yet to get off the mark. Wicket maiden for Root.

After 90 overs, India 331/6 (Ravindra Jadeja 112, Dhruv Jurel 0)

Bit of confusion between Jadeja and Kuldeep in the first delivery as the former attempts to set off for a single, only to be sent back by the non-striker and somehow making it home in time. Jadeja sets off for a single two balls later, completing 1,000 Test runs against England in the process. Dhruv Jurel makes his way out to the centre later in the over after Kuldeep ends up nicking the ball to the keeper off Anderson’s bowling, and he receives a pep talk from Jadeja after making his way to the centre.

OUT! Jimmy Anderson draws first blood on the second day, getting Kuldeep Yadav caught-behind with an inswinging delivery that straightens along the off stump, enough to kiss the outside edge. Not much celebration from the veteran seamer though, knowing he's only dismissed the nightwatchman. IND 331/6

Jonny Bairstow’s kneeling in the slip cordon now to try and snaffle the low chances. Root, meanwhile, bowls out a maiden, the first of the day, as Kuldeep blocks his way through the over.

After 88 overs, India 330/5 (Ravindra Jadeja 111, Kuldeep Yadav 4)

Pacer from the other end with James Anderson, making use of a ball that is just four overs old. Faint appeal for caught-behind against Ravindra Jadeja, who’s on strike for the first time in this over, in the second delivery. Jadeja was attempting to guide the ball that’s angled down leg towards the fine leg region, only for the ball to presumably brush his thigh pad. Jadeja and Kuldeep collect a single each later in the over.

Wow! So England are going to start with Joe Root with the new ball. Jadeja is on strike and Kuldeep Yadav is his batting partner. This is interesting move from the visitors. The first ball turned but it was a result of it pitching in a crack.

BTW, Jadeja yesterday crossed the 3000-run mark in Test cricket and he is only the third Indian to have 3000 runs and over 200 wicket in Tests. He is the third Indian after Kapil Dev and Ravichandran Ashwin. What a player.

Pitch Report from Nick Knight and Deep Dasgupta: "Not different from what we saw yesterday. The cracks, however, are slightly larger and the pitch has dried out a bit. Still enough to suggest it's going to be another good day of batting. With cracks this big, there will some balls that will misbehave. The pitch is just beginning to be a little bit rough."

Ravindra Jadeja apologised to Sarfaraz Khan after the end of day's play on Thursday for the role he played in getting the debutant run out. "It was my wrong call," a part of Jadeja's Instagram post read. Sarfaraz made 62 off 66 balls on debut before getting run out after a mix up with Jadeja. While he missed out on a century, he clearly impressed with his shot making.

By the way it was a mix up with Ravindra jadeja that led to Sarfaraz Khan's run out on his debut. Jadeja called for a single and then turned it down, leaving the youngster stranded in the middle of the pitch. India captain Rohit Sharma was pretty unimpressed with the run out and lost his cool as he was seen throwing away his cap in frustration.

Welcome to our live blog on India vs England third Test at the Saurashtra Cricket Stadium in Rajkot. The Day 1 saw India score 326/5 with Rohit Sharma scoring 131 and Ravindra Jadeja dding 110 not out. The all-rounder will look to add more runs to his tally on Friday to take India to a strong first innings total. Full action and scorecard will be available on our time line.

IND vs ENG 3rd Test Day 2 Live Score and Updates: All eyes will be on Ravindra Jadeja who is on unbeaten 110 as India look to earn a solid first innings totals. After Mark Wood and Tom Hartley struck early for England who lost the toss, it was Rohit Sharma and Jadeja who rescued the home team with a mammoth 204-run stand. Rohit was eventually dismissed on 131 as he became the oldest Indian to score a Test hundred. The departure of the Indian captain gave Sarfaraz Khan his deserved time in the spotlight as he made an impressive 62 off just 66 deliveries on debut. Despite playing his first India game, Sarfaraz showed no nerves and was confident in his sweep shots and hits down the ground. He got out as a result of mix up with his batting partner Jadeja, who completed his century on the next balls after Sarfaraz’s dismissal.

Nonetheless Jadeja soon completed his hundred and steered India to 326/5 on Day 1 and in a much comfortable position than how the day began. Now the all-rounder will have eyes on more runs to take the hosts to a solid first innings total.
