However, Marnus opens the face of the bat and drives through extra cover. He does nit get the boundary but collects three runs. Marnus collects a boundary later in the over anyway, going for the paddle sweep through short fine leg. Nine runs off the over.

Ashwin continues. Steve Smith faces him, and collects a single off the first ball of the over, coming down the track and driving towards mid-on for the one run. Just two runs from the over.

Jadeja continues. The 50-run partnership between Smith and Labuschagne comes up with a boundary off the former, as he punches through cover to beat a diving KL Rahul. Ashwin delivers the next over, in which he goes for three runs.

Right. Change of bowling for Team India as veteran all-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin is introduced into the attack for the first time this series. A slip and a short leg in place for Axar Patel. Kohli might have put down a chance to get rid of Smith, who got a tick outside edge while looking for a drive. Kohli at first slip put his right hand out, but just could not get hold of it. Two runs off the over.

Play resumes after drinks with Axar Patel coming onto bowl. A slip, silly point and short cover in place for Axar, who bowls yet another maiden over while bowling to Steve Smith.
