India vs Pakistan T20 World Cup 2024 match likely on 9 June in New York: Report

India will reportedly begin their T20 World Cup 2024 campaign on 5 June in New York with a game against Ireland followed by a clash with arch-rivals Pakistan on 9 June at the same venue, it was reported on Thursday. The 2024 T20 World Cup will be a 20-team affair and will take place in June in the West Indies and the USA.

As per a report in India Today, India will face Pakistan, Ireland, USA and Canada in the group stage. All their group matches will take place in the USA and if they qualify for Super 8, those games will take place in West Indies.

Apart from facing Ireland (5 June) and Pakistan (9 June), India will take on the USA on 12 June and Canada on 15 June. The Canada game will take place in Florida, while the other three group games for India will be played in New York.

Earlier a report in the Guardian had stated that India’s matches will take place in a pop-up stadium on the outskirts of New York.
