In Bollywood, the constant go with the flow of films often goes lost sight of, with many disappearing just as quickly as they arrive. Recently, a trend has emerged where South Indian stars collaborate with Hindi film actors, resulting in a mixture of hits and flops. One notable attempt used to be made 5 years ago in 2019 when Pan India megastar Prabhas used to be paired with the versatile Shraddha Kapoor in the ambitious film Saaho. Whatever the loads of investment of Rs 70 crores spent on just one scene, the film failed to resonate with audiences which used to be mega disaster.

One scene demanded budget of Rs 70 crore, yet this film flopped

Every shot of the action-thriller Saaho used to be filmed using cutting-edge IMAX cameras, showcasing the makers’ commitment to delivering a visually stunning experience. This used to be the first Indian film to utilize IMAX technology for every scene reflecting the substantial investment poured into the project.

Featuring a celeb-studded cast, including Prabhas, Shraddha Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Chunky Pandey, Murali Sharma, and Mandira Bedi, the film eventually fell short of expectations, no matter its ambitious production.

As reported by Sacnilk, Saaho had a staggering budget of 350 crores, with a significant slice allocated to individual scenes. Notably, a fine 8-minute action sequence commanded a budget of 70 crores, marking it because the absolute best ever invested in a single scene. For the climactic showdown, one hundred stunt performers were brought in from across the globe, yet the film failed to captivate audiences as hoped.

Following the big success of Baahubali, expectations were sky-high for Prabhas’s Saaho. While it performed decently in the Hindi market, it struggled to make a mark in Telugu, Malayalam, and Tamil audiences. In accordance with Sacnilk, the film’s total worldwide earnings reached just ₹451 crore.
