Israel PM Netanyahu wishes people on Jewish new year, says ‘It will be year of total victory’

Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu extended his wish on the occasion of the Jewish New Year and asserted that “it truly is going to be a year of total victory.” He wrote on X, “It'll be a year of total victory. Happy New Year to the people of Israel.”

Earlier in the day, Benjamin Netanyahu held a meeting with the heads of the protection establishment at the Kirya in Tel Aviv.

His meeting with the protection heads comes at a time when the situation in West Asia escalated following Iran’s launch of nearly 200 ballistic missiles towards targets in Israel.

Amid the escalating tensions in the Middle East, Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson Maria Zakharova said that Russia notes the United Nations General Assembly’s broad consensus in favour of immediate ceasefire. She said that best US and Israel oppose it.
