IPL 2024: Yashasvi Jaiswal, Ravi Bishnoi and other Indians who could set the stage on fire

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 auction is just around the corner. The IPL 2024 player auction will take place on 19 December in Dubai, with a total of 1,166 players having registered for the auction.

Over the years, the IPL has been about nurturing young Indian talents, with some of them who have gone onto play for the country on the big stage.

We now take a look at five Indian players who can set the stage on fire:

Yashasvi Jaiswal

Yashasvi Jaiswal has gone onto become a vital cog of the Rajasthan Royals (RR) outfit in the IPL. Jaiswal had a tremendous IPL 2023 campaign, scoring 625 runs from 214 matches including a century and five fifties. His performance with the bat also helped him earn a call-up to India’s T20I and Test teams, with the 21-year-old eventually making his international debut against West Indies in July.

Till date, Jaiswal has gone onto score a century each in Tests and ODIs, while scoring three fifties in total across the two formats. If IPL 2023 is to go by, there will only be promising things from Jaiswal in IPL 2024, and with next year being a T20 World Cup year, that will only motivate him to do well and remain hungry for success with the bat.

Suryakumar Yadav

T20 is his favourite format and Suryakumar Yadav has showcased that previously. While SKY did not have an ODI World Cup to remember with the bat, he roared back to form in the T20I series against Australia that followed, scoring 144 runs to end up as the series’ second highest run-getter.

He did have a productive IPL 2023 with the bat, having amassed 605 runs and given the different kind of player he is in T20s, one can expect fireworks when he walks out to bat for MI next season.

Rinku Singh

Rinku Singh needs no introduction. He became an overnight sensation in IPL 2023 with his heroics for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) against Gujarat Titans (GT) and he was rightly retained by the franchise ahead of the auction.

Rinku recently shone for India in the T20I series against Australia, showcasing his finishing abilities while also performing under pressure.

Ravi Bishnoi

Ravi Bishnoi has gone onto become a mainstay in the IPL for his franchise Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). He ended IPL 2023 with 16 wickets from 15 games with best figures of 3/28. As far as his spot in the Indian team is concerned, he has showcased why he should be preferred over the out-of-favour Yuzvendra Chahal, scalping nine wickets against Australia to finish as the top wicket taker of the series.

Arshdeep Singh

Arshdeep Singh has gone onto become Punjab Kings’ mainstay over the last few years in the IPL. Although he does have the tendency to concede runs, Arshdeep still delivers when it matters the most. Arshdeep showcased that in the final T20I against Australia in Bengaluru. After going for 37 runs in the first three overs, Arshdeep displayed resilience in the final over of the fifth T20I, giving away just three runs while taking the wicket of Matthew Wade, which proved game-defining.
