'It’s an honour to play with him': Yashasvi Jaiswal talks about batting with Virat Kohli

Young India batter Yashasvi Jaiswal scored a phenomenal half century to earn a victory for India in the second T20I against Afghanistan on Sunday. Coming down to bat as an opener alongside skipper Rohit Sharma, the 22-year-old produced a terrific knock of 68 off 34 balls, at the Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore. Following the win against the Afghan cricket team, Jaiswal opened up on his performance.

“Kaafi maza aaya batting karne me, aur wicket bhi kaafi accha tha. Humare pass accha target tha toh mere dimaag me ye hi tha ki ek accha start dena hai team ko aur uss ke hisaab se agar mai accha start deta hoon toh continue rakkhon aur acche shots khelte rahoon jis pe runs aate rahe, [I really enjoyed a lot batting in the game and the pitch was also good. We had an achievable target to chase down and I wanted to earn a good start. So, as per the situation I wanted to keep playing effective shots which can help us in scoring runs],” Jaiswal said in a video shared by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on social media platform X, formerly Twitter.
