Jackky Bhagnani’s Father Vashu Owes Over Rs 33 Lakh to Akshay Kumar’s ‘Mission Raniganj’ Director: FWICE

Veteran producer Vashu Bhagnani owes crew workers who contributed to three of his films more than Rs 65 lakh. It has now been revealed that Bhagnani’s Pooja Entertainment is in serious financial trouble and that the producer owes money to Tinu Desai, the director of Akshay Kumar’s ‘Mission Raniganj.’ According to PTI, BN Tiwari, head of the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE), recently disclosed that wages for labourers who worked on the sets of Mission Raniganj, Ganapath, and Bade Miyan Chote Miyan are still outstanding.

Vashu Bhagnani Owes Over Rs 33 Lakh to Director And Crew?

The filmmaker is owed Rs 33.13 lakh by the firm, revealed the head of FWICE. Additionally, he mentioned that the production company owes about Rs 31.78 lakh to over 250 set workers who contributed to Tiger Shroff‘s Ganpath (2023), and Akshay Kumar and Tiger’s Bade Miyan Chote Miyan (2024).

In a grievance submitted to the Indian Film & Television Director’s Association (IFTDA) on March 19, 2023, Tinu stated that he worked on Mission Raniganj from February 2022 until October 6, 2023, the day the movie was released. The report stated that he should have gotten Rs 40350000 as per the contract, but he has only received Rs 37036092 thus far.

The President of FWICE also disclosed that Pooja Entertainment continued to postpone payment after many letters from IFTDA. The president said that in an email dated February 20, 2024, to IFTDA, the production firm requested ‘time to pay, citing Jackky Bhagnani’s wedding’ in February of this year. They didn’t respond afterwards, though.

Jackky Bhagnani on Payment Dues

The team described their experience, stating that they finished a movie in 2022 and were first given a 30-day payment guarantee. With the anticipation of a July release, which again didn’t materialize, this date was postponed to June. Several attempts to inquire more were turned down. A few times, people had direct conversations with Jackky Bhagnani, who gave them his word that money would be transferred.

Vashu Bhagnani’s Pooja Entertainment in Loss?

If recent reports are to be believed, Vashu Bhagnani’s Pooja Entertainment is suffering significant losses as a result of a string of box office failures. According to a Bollywood Hungama report from earlier this month, Vashu sold Pooja Entertainment’s seven-story headquarters to pay off a debt of Rs 250 crore. It also said that the production company had let go of 80% of its workforce and that the movie producer was using the sale money to settle debts. Bhagnani, however, denied the allegations and subsequently stated in a statement that the property was being renovated.
