Kareena Kapoor is 'not going to Hollywood' with Hansal Mehta's & Netflix's The Buckingham Murders

One of the most talented actresses, Kareena Kapoor Khan seems to be on a roll as she continues to push her versatility on the big screen with unconventional roles. Having made her OTT debut with Sujoy Ghosh’s Jaane Jaan, the actress is now gearing up for the highly anticipated film, The Buckingham Murders with Hansal Mehta. Kareena who will be playing the role of a detective in the upcoming thriller has multiple times spoken about the film and also about her Hollywood endeavours. Reiterating her statement once again, the actress in her latest interview has confirmed that she will not be heading to Hollywood with ‘The Buckingham Murders’.

Talking to the Hindustan Times, the actress spoke about the shift in her career, from lending her voice to the titular character of Audible show Marvel’s Wastelanders: Black Widow and now with the Hansal Mehta directorial.

Speaking on whether she is trying to bridge the gap between India and Hollywood with her upcoming detective thriller film, Kareena Kapoor expressed her admiration for the Mare of Easttown. Recalling that she was immediately willing to be a part of Rhe Buckingham Murders when she was approached by Hansal Mehta, Kareena said, “It’s something that I have not done before and was really excited and nervous to play the character. It’s not done with the intention to bridge any gap but as an actor to do something different and reinvent oneself.”

Notably, this is not the first time she has opened up about going to Hollywood. Earlier on Koffee with Karan Season 8, Kareena in response to Karan Johar’s question about riding the “bus to Hollywood” said, “Main mere BEST mei thik hu (I am good with my BEST bus)”

Kareena Kapoor on lending voice to Marvel’s Wastelanders: Black Widow

Speaking about lending her voice to Marvel’s Wastelanders: Black Widow, Kareena said, “Black Widow is an iconic and loved character. I am excited about my first stint as a spy assassin as the Black Widow.”

“Marvel’s Wastelanders will be a unique experience for every person who hears it, and that’s such a powerful creative collaboration for me as an actor to have with the audience,” she added.
