Kareena Kapoor Khan all set to make grand south debut with 'KGF' star Yash in a film titled 'Toxic'

After the massive success of KGF and KGF 2, Kannada superstar Yash recently announced his next project. Yash will be collaborating with the award-winning director Geetu Mohandas for his next, titled Toxic. While not much is out about the film, Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor Khan will reportedly also star in the film, thus making her debut in the Kannada film industry.

According to a Filmfare report, the Jaane Jaan actress will play the female lead in Toxic. However, an official announcement is yet to be made from the actress or director Geetu Mohandas’ end.

Reports also suggest that makers might announce the official cast of the film in the coming days, while the filming will commence in a few weeks. Notably, Kareena Kapoor is not the first Btown star to feature alongside Yash. Earlier, actors Sanjay Dutt and Raveena Tandon worked with him in KGF 2.

Kareena Kapoor expresses her desire to work with Yash

This comes days after Kareena Kapoor had expressed her desire to work with the KGF star.

In one of the recent Koffee With Karan episodes, Kareena during the rapid-fire round shared he would love to work with Yash. As Karan Johar asked, “Which south actor would you like to be paired up with? Prabhas, Ram Charan, Vijay Deverakonda, Allu Arjun, and Yash,” the actress expressed her desire to collaborate with the southern sensation, declaring herself a ‘KGF girl.’

About Toxic

In December last year, Yash announced his 19th film along with the title and a short clip, giving a glimpse of his character. Directed by Geetu Mohandas, the film will reportedly also feature Sai Pallavi and is likely to go on the floors very soon.

“What you seek is seeking you – Rumi. A Fairy Tale for Grown-ups #TOXIC,” he wrote. The video opens, showing a few anti-heroes including DC Comics’ villain Joker. It further gives a glimpse of the actor’s looks in the film, Yash can be seen wearing a hat while holding a cigar in his mouth.

Besides the film’s title and the video, the makers have announced that the film will be released in theatres on 10 April 2025.
