Recently, during an interactive Ask Me Anything (AMA) session hosted on Netflix India’s Instagram, the rumored pair got together and answered some fan questions related to the upcoming show, Laapataa Ladies. Interestingly, they didn’t shy away from a common query that kept coming, “Are you two dating in real life?” and decided to deal with it.
The clip starts off with Pratibha Ranta exclaiming, “Really? Absolutely not.” Sparsh fires back with “C’mon, a boy and a girl can just be good friends.” He hands a flower to Pratibha who proudly displays it to the camera and announces, “We are the best of friends.” They later attempted to follow a popular trend of forming heart shapes with their hands but didn’t succeed.

In “Laapataa Ladies,” a movie that beautifully reflects day-to-day realities, Pratibha brilliantly steps into the shoes of Jaya Singh and Pushpa Rani, and Sparsh Shrivastava impressively breathes life into the character of Deepak Kumar. Under the skilled production of Aamir Khan, the film takes you through the story of two fresh brides. After boarding the same train to reach their spouse’s houses, they are unintentionally left in different villages, spiralling their lives into unimaginable directions.
The movie had its first screening at last year’s 48th Toronto International Film Festival, with Abhay Dubey, Chhaya Kadam, and Ravi Kishan playing the lead roles. The film was released on March 1 and is available in theatres as well as on Netflix, pulling in more viewers than originally expected.
As per the latest buzz, ‘Laapataa Ladies’ on Netflix outpaced Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Animal’, racking up more views within a short span of one month since its release.
