Las Vegas Strip adds tickets to huge star’s sold-out residency

The Las Vegas Strip headliner residencies have a reputation of selling out almost all of their shows, especially those of the biggest stars. Giant rock group U2's 25-show U2:UV Achtung Baby Live At Sphere residency at Sphere Entertainment's  (SPHR) - Get Free Report 20,000-seat Sphere at the Venetian is an example of an instant sell-out.

Other residencies performed by huge pop singers Adele and Lady Gaga, and even old-time singers like Barry Manilow, Donny Osmond and Mr. Las Vegas Wayne Newton have no problem selling out as well.

International singing star Kylie Minogue in July quickly sold out a 10-show residency at Apollo Global Management's  (APO) - Get Free Report The Venetian Las Vegas' cabaret-style nightclub Voltaire that wraps around the F1 Las Vegas Grand Prix on Nov 16-18. The shows of the residency were scheduled for Nov. 3, 4, 10 and 11, then Dec. 8, 9 and Jan. 19, 20, 26 and 27.

Thousands of Minogue fans were shut out of the ticket sale by an "overwhelming response" and a "system overload" on the Voltairelv.com website, as she described it in an Aug. 14 Facebook post. All 10,000 tickets, or 1,000 per show, sold out in less than 5 hours after going on sale on Aug. 9. Demand was so high that wait times reportedly were as long as 3,359 hours. The website informed fans by 4 p.m. that day that tickets had sold out.

Minogue's extreme popularity prompted the singer to double the amount of shows in her residency to 20 at Voltaire, extending the engagement into May 2024. The Australian star added new shows for Dec. 15, 16, March 8, 9, 15, 16, April 26, 27, May 3 and 4, allowing fans to buy tickets to just the shows or book travel packages. Extremely high demand for these coveted tickets led to the second series of 10 shows to sell out in just 30 minutes on Aug. 17.

Voltaire adds 90s pop star residency

The superstar singer's fans have been hoping for an extension of her residency, but that has not happened yet. Instead, Voltaire has booked 90's pop superstar Christina Aguilera for shows Dec. 30, 31; Jan. 5, 6; Feb. 2, 3, 9, 10; March 1 and 2.

Minogue is scheduled to perform at a one-night exclusive, extravagant Amber Lounge F1 After Party at Voltaire following the the Formula 1 Heineken Silver Las Vegas Grand Prix on Nov. 18. Tickets on the Amber Lounge website range from $1,000 for one general admission standing room ticket to much higher priced table prices of $2,500, $5,000, $8,800, $16,800, $25,000, $35,000, $50,000 and an even higher ultra VIP table with the price not listed.

Disappointed fans can still get tickets

But fear not, Kylie Minogue fans. If you act fast, you might score one of the many tickets that Voltaire added to Minogue's 20-show residency after the venue finalized the club's seat map, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported. A survey of the Voltaire website in the evening on Oct. 30 revealed that some tickets and tables are still available for Minogue's shows on Nov. 3, 4, 10, 11, Dec 8, 9, Jan. 19 and 26.

Remaining general admission standing room tickets are as low as $300 each, and tables start at $1,200 for two people and rise from there.

Minogue's latest album "Tension" was released in September. Last spring, she had international success with her comeback dance hit "Padam Padam."

Australia's Queen of Pop, with over 80 million records sold worldwide, began her career with several pop hits in the 1980s, before reinventing herself with albums "Impossible Princess" in 1997 and dance-pop classic "Fever" in 2001, which featured her biggest international hit, "Can't Get You Out of my Head."
