Las Vegas Strip Brings Back a Huge Star Who May Sell Out Fast

Las Vegas Strip guests always have plenty of entertainment options to choose from on their visits to Sin City. When it comes to music, visitors are unlikely to be able see all of the major residencies on the Strip in a week's time.

September will be a busy time as Carlos Santana, Barry Manilow, Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan, Wayne Newton and Donny Osmond have residencies running on the Strip. Rock giant U2 opens Sphere Entertainment's  (SPHR) - Get Free Report Sphere at the Venetian on Sept. 29 for a 25-show residency that runs through Dec. 16 and is sold out. In October, Katy Perry finishes up her long-running show, and in November, more big performers hit the stages with Rod Stewart, Keith Urban, and Miranda Lambert starting residencies.

International pop star Kylie Minogue in July scheduled a 10-show residency at Apollo Global Management's  (APO) - Get Free Report The Venetian Las Vegas' cabaret-style nightclub Voltaire that will wrap around the F1 Las Vegas Grand Prix on Nov 16-18. The residency is scheduled for Nov. 3, 4, 10 and 11, then Dec. 8, 9 and Jan. 19, 20, 26 and 27.

Minogue's residency timing is perfect as it will allow her to promote her upcoming album "Tension," which is planned for release on Sept. 22. Last spring, she had international success with her comeback dance hit "Padam Padam."

Unfortunately for fans of Minogue, many were shut out of the ticket sale by an "overwhelming response" and a "system overload" on the Voltairelv.com website, as Minogue described it in an Aug. 14 Facebook post. All 10,000 tickets, or 1,000 per show, sold out in less than 5 hours after going on sale at 10:30 a.m. Pacific on Aug. 9. Demand was so high that wait times reportedly were as long as 3,359 hours. The website had informed fans by 4 p.m. that tickets had sold out.

Ticket broker StubHub on Aug. 10 listed one ticket available for a Jan. 19 performance priced at $1,710. Eight tickets remained for a Nov. 4 performance at the time, listed at $1,620 per ticket if you bought two, $1,800 if you bought one. Four tickets for the Jan. 26 show were priced at $1,800 per ticket.

Any available tickets for the first 10 shows in Minogue's residency have skyrocketed on StubHub in just four days. Two tickets for Minogue's Nov. 4 Voltaire show was priced on StubHub for $2,475 each on Aug. 14. However, fans of Minogue can relax a little since there is still some hope.

Minogue's extreme popularity has prompted the singer to double the amount of shows in her residency at Voltaire, extending the engagement into May 2024. The Australian star has added new shows for Dec. 15, 16, March 8, 9, 15, 16, April 26, 27, May 3 and 4, allowing fans to buy tickets to just the shows or book travel packages. Tickets are set to go on sale Aug. 17 at 7 a.m. Pacific time on Ticketmaster.com. General admission tickets are $200, and tables for two start at $1,000 and rise from there.
