LeT Claims Responsibility Of Reasi Terror Attack: On the evening of the swearing-in ceremony of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a terror attack took place in the Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir. A bus carrying pilgrims going to Vaishno Devi rolled down into a gorge after terrorists opened fire at the passengers. The terrorist attack killed nine people and injured 33 others; the area of accident was immediately sealed and the Indian Army began search operations. In a latest development, the Pakistani terrorist organisation, Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) has claimed responsibility of the attack.

Pakistan-Based LeT Takes Responsibility Of Reasi Terror Attack

As mentioned earlier, the terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba, based out of Pakistan has taken responsibility of the Reasi Terror Attack that claimed lives of nine pilgrims and injured 33 others. According to a report by Hindustan Times, the LeT front TRF has taken credit for the deadly attack and showed how the attack was done by homegrown terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir; not foreign Islamists in Lahore.

Attack Purposely Carried Out During PM Modi Swearing-In Ceremony: Reports

According to the Hindustan Times Reports, the attack was purposely carried out during the swearing-in ceremony of PM Modi; the perpetrators are about 12 jihadists who are moving inside Rajouri-Poonch forests in the Jammu region. The terrorist group may include multiple Pakistani nationals.

Indian Army Launches Search Operation

In another news, the Indian Army has also launched a search operation in Jammu and Kashmir’s Reasi on Monday morning following the attack on a bus coming from Shiv Khori, in which ten pilgrims were killed on Sunday evening. State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) has also arrived in Reasi and drones are also being used in search operation in dense forest areas in and around the incident site.

What Happened In Reasi Terror Attack?

According to officials, the bus, en route from the Shiv Khori shrine to Katra, was targetted by terrorists at around 06.10 pm when it reached Pouni area of Reasi district bordering Rajouri district. “Terrorists opened fire, causing the driver to lose control and the bus to plunge into a gorge,” Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Reasi, Mohita Sharma told ANI.

“PM Narendra Modi Ji took stock of the situation and has asked me to constantly monitor the situation. All those behind this heinous act will be punished soon. PM has also directed that all the injured are provided the best possible medical care & assistance,” the J-K LG added.
