Dreaming is easy, but achieving good stuff in life is demanding. Once turned down for roles in movies resulting from his appearance, he is now one amongst India’s most beloved stars. No points for guessing! Vijay Varma began his acting career in theatre in Hyderabad. He then relocated to Pune to attend FTII’s official acting program. Following his graduation, he relocated to Mumbai and got his break with the critically acclaimed short film ‘Shor,’ which took home the Best Short Film prize at the MIAAC festival in New York. He became also in the critically acclaimed movie ‘Pink,’ which starred Taapsee Pannu and Amitabh Bachchan.

“Casting directors did have self belief in me, but I used to be not given an opportunity for a long, long time. In some auditions, I used to be on the waitlist, in top five, top two and then I used to be locked and then I used to be dropped! I used to be locked in Sacred Games, I did my costume measurements and then I got dropped. Stuff like that has occurred, but some a bit of me kept the faith and belief. Work started coming in after Gully Boy, but I believe I used to be so starved for work, that I took a huge selection of it after the film, ” he said.

He also mentioned how, after collaborating with Alia Bhatt on Darlings, he felt like he became being stuck in negative roles. He gave credit to Anubhav Sinha (IC 814), Homi Adajania (Murder Mubarak), and Sujoy Ghosh (Jaane Jaan) for his or her assistance in breaking through his shell.

“The industry works in mysterious ways, when they see potential in you, they also need to present you the chance to tap on the alternative side of you. I didn’t break any stereotypes, because I didn’t make any stereotypes. They made it, they broke it, ” he added.

When Vijay Varma ran from his home

Vijay Varma stated in an interview that he ran away from home resulting from problems with his father and didn’t consult with him for seven or eight years. Around the globe a conversation with Film Companion, being the youngest in the family, he said that he became the spoilt one. The ‘Gully Boy’ actor wanted to remain away from working with his father, but his father urged him to join the company. That’s how the argument began, and Vijay became defending his stand while his father became certain about his own. “It went on for years until I determined ‘I don’t think this man wants what's good for me’, then I ran away from home, and then there have been 7-8 years of no talking,” he expressed.

Around the globe an interview with News 18, Vijay Varma talked about how he became turned down for a movie the reason is, involved astrologer didn’t like his photos. He disclosed that he became asked to submit certain photos after being chosen for a task. Following that, Varma became fired from the movie, and he thought this became because an astrologer named Jyotish failed to like his pictures.
