Looks like all’s not well between actress Meryl Streep and American sculptor Don Gummer. Recent reports suggest that the couple, who has been married for the past 45 years, might have chosen different paths. According to a report in Page Six, Meryl Streep and Don Gummer have been “living separately for approximately six years.” Currently, neither Meryl Streep nor Don Gummer has provided any official statements about their relationship status.

A spokesperson of Meryl Streep confirmed the news to the portal and said, “Don Gummer and Meryl Streep have been separated for more than 6 years, and while they will always care for each other, they have chosen lives apart.”

Talking about the couple’s relationship history, Meryl Streep was allegedly in a romantic relationship with John Cazale. The actor passed away due to lung cancer back in March 1978. During this difficult time, Meryl Streep met Don Gummer. Just six months after they met, they exchanged wedding vows. The couple has four kids, son Henry Wolfe, and three daughters, Mamie Gummer, Grace Gummer, and Louisa Jacobson.

Meryl Streep opened up about the secret to her long marriage during an old media interaction. She said that every once in a while every couple needs to shut up in order to make their marriage work. She added that there is no road map for raising a family. The Devil Wears Prada star said, “It’s always an enormous negotiation. But I have a holistic need to work and to have huge ties of love in my life. I can’t imagine eschewing one for the other.”
