Netherlands vs New Zealand LIVE, Cricket World Cup: New Zealand and Netherlands have both played their first matches in the ongoing ODI World Cup and faced different results. New Zealand started with a thumping win over reigning champions England in the tournament opener. Meanwhile, Netherlands put up a brave fight against Pakistan but fizzled in the end.

Although England posted 282 runs on the board, the New Zealanders chased down the target in 36.2 overs, thanks to Devon Conway (152 not out) and Rachin Ravindra (123 not out) playing blazing innings.

New Zealand achieved the win without their regular skipper Kane Williamson, who is yet to regain match fitness having nursed an ACL injury. Tom Latham, who led the Black Caps against England, will continue the leadership role against Netherlands as well.

As for the Netherlands, they did have their moments in the 81-run defeat to Pakistan such as getting rid of Pakistan’s top order cheaply and Vikramjit Singh (52) and Bas de Leede (67) providing a strong fightback during the chase.
