Pankaj Tripathi on his film 'Kadak Singh': 'It talks about the same relationship as Ranbir Kapoor's Animal but...'

After impressing fans with his performance in films like OMG 2 and Fukrey 3, actor Pankaj Tripathi has delivered his third release of this year with Kadak Singh. Directed by Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury, the film revolves around the life of AK Srivastava, an officer at the Department of Financial Crimes, diagnosed with retrograde amnesia and solves the chit-fund case.

While the film takes on an interesting plot as several hidden facts come out, it also shows the dynamics of the relationship between a father and daughter. While Pankaj Tripathi portrays the role of AK Srivastava aka Kadak Singh, Sanjana Sanghi plays the role of his daughter.

In a recent interview, the senior actor spoke about the film, while also drawing parallels between Kadak Singh and Ranbir Kapoor starrer Animal. Noting that both the films are like “north pole and south pole”, he went on to add that Kadak Singh shows a similar relationship to the one shown in Animal, however very differently.

“Kadak Singh talks about the same relationship but in such a different manner, almost north-south pole. Audience exists for both,” the actor said in a conversation with DNA.

Apart from that, he also spoke about how OTT has evolved and expanded the scope of cinema. Noting that diversity exists in the Indian cinema, unlike earlier, he added, “After the arrival of OTT, the scope of cinema has become larger. It was impossible to do all this earlier.”

The actor spoke about how it wasn’t possible to do films like Kadak Singh and OMG 2 10 years ago, adding, “You couldn’t think about discussing sex and sex education in a film. People would say ‘ye kya hai’. But we are doing it now.”

Pankaj Tripathi-starrer Kadak Singh is currently streaming on ZEE5. Apart from him, the film also features actors like Parvathy Thirvuvothu, Sanjana Sanghi, Jaya Ahsan, and others.

On the other hand, the OMG 2 actor has a few other projects like Main Atal Hoon, Metro In Dino, and Stree 2 in the pipeline.
