New Delhi: In a sweet gesture, Google updated its doodle on September 5 commemorating the powerlifting event at the continuing 2024 Paralympics in Paris, thus continuing its make stronger for the para-athletes. The doodle showed a chicken powerlifting on what appears like a loaf of bread at the ‘Arena Porte de La Chapelle’. Tormented by polio in both legs at the age of two, Paramjeet became confined to crutches, wheelchair, and a tricycle for movement since childhood. Like Khatun, the 2018 Asian Para Games bronze medallist, became also in a position to log in only one legal lift.

Powerlifting is open to athletes with an eligible physical impairment of their legs or hips, which would prohibit them from competing in in a position-bodied (standing) weightlifting. There may well be best one sport class in powerlifting, but the athletes compete in different weight categories.
