New Delhi: After the Olympics ended final week, the point of educate shifts to the Paris Paralympics 2024 which starts off on August 28. Gold medal winner at the Tokyo Paralympics, Sumit Antil, and Asian Para Games silver medalists Bhagyashree Jadhav had been chosen as India’s flag-bearers at the Opening Ceremony.

“Antil and Bhagyashree had been consistent performers through the years. They're going to be Indian flag-bearers at the Paris Paralympics’ athletes march past,” Paralympic Committee of India (PCI) chief Devendra Jhajharia suggested PTI. India had a haul of 19 medals in probably the most familiar edition in Tokyo.

Haryana’s javelin thrower Sumit bought the Tokyo Paralympics gold medal with a global doc throw of Sixty eight.55 metres in the F64 classification. He then went on to win a gold at the World Para Championships final year and shattered his personal doc at the Asian Para Games with a throw of 73.29m.

Shotputter Bhagyashree, who competes in the F34 classification, bought a silver medal at the Asian Para Games. She is also a medal winner at the FAZZA World Cup. The Indian contingent consists of Eighty 4 athletes amazing through 12 disciplines for the Paralympics slated from August 28-September 8.
