Shah Rukh Khan's 'Dunki' not postponed, to release on December 22

Shah Rukh Khan was on a roll this year. He made a smashing comeback with January released Pathaan and took the box office by storm. He went a notch higher with the recently released Jawan.

The film shattered all the records and received immense love and appreciation. Now, the fans of the Shah Rukh Khan are eagerly waiting for his next – Dunki. It will be released in December this year. Meanwhile, Prabhas’ highly anticipated film Salaar – Part 1: Ceasefire is also slated for a December 2023 release. However, recent reports suggest Dunki’s release has been postponed to avoid a clash with Salaar.

Dunki’s release date postponed

Film trade analyst Manobala Vijayabalan, on Thursday, dropped a tweet on microblogging site X, to inform, “Buzz: #SalaarVsDunki X #ShahRukhKhan’s #Dunki likely to get POSTPONED. #Prabhas’ #Salaar to get a SOLO record release.”

Meanwhile, Aakashavaani also revealed, “Yes. The talk going around is said to be true. #Dunki most ‘Likely’ to get postponed. Post-production works are said to be taking time and the team may not be able to complete the works for the 22nd December release. Official confirmation is awaited.”

However, several other trade analysts have confirmed the film is not postponed and the mega-clash on December 22 is surely on.

Dunki vs Salaar

Helmed by Rajkumar Hirani, Dunki also stars Taapsee Pannu alongside Shah Rukh. The film will mark their first on-screen pairing together. If the reports are to be believed, the makers of Dunki have made this move to avoid a clash with Prabhas’ Salaar, directed by Prashant Neel. Salaar also stars Shruti Haasan and Prithviraj Sukumaran. The film was earlier scheduled to hit the theatres on 28 September. However, the makers postponed its release date to December owing to “unforeseen circumstances.”

Announcing the release date of the film, the makers of the upcoming action thriller shared a new poster on X which they captioned, “Coming bloody soon! #SalaarCeaseFire Worldwide Release On Dec 22, 2023.” The intriguing poster displayed Prabhas with blood on his body.

Well, no official information about the postponed release date of Dunki has been made yet.
