Shatrughan Sinha Says ‘Consent Nahi Lete Maa-Baap Ke’ to Daughter Sonakshi Sinha’s Wedding With BF Zaheer

Shatrughan Sinha, the actor-turned-politician, has addressed the circulating rumours that his daughter Sonakshi is getting married to her rumoured lover Zaheer Iqbal. According to reports, the ‘Heeramandi‘ actor and her BF will exchange wedding vows in a secret ceremony in Mumbai this month. The veteran star nevertheless, has declared that he is unaware of these intentions.

According to reports doing rounds on the internet, Sonakshi and Zaheer, who have been dating for a few years now, will be tying the knot on June 23 in Mumbai. Speaking to Times Now, Shatrughan Sinha revealed that his daughter has not told him anything about the marriage. “I am in Delhi right now. After the election results, I flew down here. I haven’t spoken to anyone about my daughter’s plans. So your question is, is she getting married? The answer is that she hasn’t told me anything about it. Main bhi utna hi jaanta ho jitna main media maine padha hai. If and when she takes me into confidence, my wife and I will give the couple my blessings. We wish her all happiness always, ” he said.

Shatrughan then expressed his concern about his daughter’s significant life decision. He revealed that although the media seems to know more about her big day, he is being questioned by close friends and family members about why he is unaware of her wedding arrangements. “All I can say is, aaj kal ke bachche consent nahin lete maa-baap ke, sirf inform karte hain. We are waiting to be informed, ” he added.

For those who were not aware, Sonakshi and Zaheer’s June 23 wedding reports claimed that the invites had been sent out to family members, close friends, and the cast of Heeramandi. According to India Today reports, the phrase – ‘The rumours are true’ was printed on a wedding invitation that looked like a magazine cover. If reports were to be believed, the intimate wedding would take place in Mumbai’s Bastian.

Sonakshi and Zaheer, who met at a party hosted by Salman Khan, have been dating since 2020. The couple collaborated for the 2022 movie ‘Double XL.’ They were also featured in last year’s ‘Blockbuster‘ music video.
