Swara Bhasker Says ‘At Least She is Alive’ to Kangana Ranaut’s Slap Incident at Chandigarh Airport

Kangana Ranaut Slap Incident: Kangana Ranaut’s slap incident at the Chandigarh airport prompted Swara Bhasker to respond. She also stated that the nation’s larger problems must be addressed. During a latest interview, Swara discussed her thoughts on Tanu Weds Manu‘s co-star being smacked by CISF officials at the Chandigarh airport. The new mom also emphasized that she had previously written some controversial tweets that resulted in her being banned from X (formerly known as Twitter).

While actor Swara Bhasker believes the slapping was wrong, it’s time to focus on the nation’s larger problems. In the interview with Connect Cine, Swara reacted to Kangana’s remark about not getting support from Bollywood following the slap gate, she said, “Kangana ko sirf thappad pada, uski jaan to surakshit hai. There have been people who have been lynched to death. There have been people who were shot dead.”

Swara explained why she believed Kangana was not receiving support, citing her own actions as the reason. She incited her fans to tweet about PM Narendra Modi’s virat roop from 2000, referencing the Gujarat riots, signalling violence and even asking for ‘almost a genocide.’ The ‘Veere Di Wedding‘ actor went on to say that she backed Will Smith after he smacked Chris Rock at the Oscars and that she is now asking for help, but doesn’t know how to ask for it. Swara said that although Kulwinder Kaur, the employee who had slapped her, had been suspended, there were still those who had committed more serious crimes who were at large. Bhasker continued, saying that it is past time for us to deal with the nation’s most pressing problems.

She continued, “Any sensible person will agree that whatever happened to Kangana was terrible. Nobody will excuse the abuse or attack that Kangana experienced. So, certainly, what happened to her was terrible and should not have occurred. It is wrong to attack someone. People were encouraging Kangana’s right-wing fans not to speak out since they were the ones who advocated lynching.”

Swara Bhaskar and Kangana Ranaut were seen together in Tanu Weds Manu and its follow-up, Tanu Weds Manu Returns.

Kangana was headed to New Delhi for a meeting of the National Democratic Alliance, of which the Bharatiya Janata Party is a member, a few days after winning the Lok Sabha election in Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, on the party ticket. She said that Kulwinder Kaur, a CISF constable, struck her in the face while she was navigating the security checkpoint at Chandigarh International Airport. Kangana asserted that her recent comments against Khalistan were the cause. As a result, a police report was made against Kulwinder. Several Bollywood celebs responded to Kangana’s CISF slap incident, including Anupam Kher, Shabana Azmi, Shekhar Suman, and Adhyayan Suman.

The Lok Sabha election for the Mandi constituency in Himachal Pradesh was won by Kangana. There were 5,37,022 votes cast in favour of the BJP nominee. She received 74,755 more votes than Congressman Vikramaditya Singh.
