T20 World Cup 2024: Rishabh Pant Hit First Nets Session in Indian Jersey After 16 Months

New York: Indian wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant had his first net session in India colors after a long time of 16 months, ahead of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 opener against Ireland at the newly constructed Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York, Scheduled for June 5. Rishabh Pant made his comeback to professional cricket in IPL 2024, after surviving a life threatening road accident in December 2024.

In IPL 2024, Pant’s team Delhi Capitals finished in the sixth spot with 14 points and failed to qualify for the playoffs. He emerged as the team’s top run scorer  with 446 runs in 13 matches at an amazing strike rate of 155 with three half-centuries under his belt. Rishabh Pant is considered as favourites to feature in the playing eleven as specialist wicketkeeper over Sanju Samson.

In a video posted by BCCI, Rishabh Pant was hitting the nets with other players of India’s T20 World Cup squad. Pant was looking in great shape while batting at the nets, he shredded a lot of weight, and had a leaner look ahead of the marquee tournament. He was looking in a great touch while hitting the ball, and was looking to play along the ground and time the ball well as this was the team’s first net session ahead of the mega event.
