Taco Bell Returns Some Old Favorites to Spring Menu

Taco Bell takes the time machine back with three legacy menu items.

Spring is already in the air across the U.S., and that means more Americans opting to dine out in the nicer weather.

When they do, Taco Bell is hoping diners crave some old chestnuts that are returning to the menu.

The fast-food retailer owned by the wider Yum! Brands  (YUM) - Get Free Report just announced the return of three menu favorites -- the Bacon Club Chalupa, the Double Steak Grilled Cheese Burrito and the Quesarito, a rolled quesadilla filled with "seasoned beef, creamy chipotle sauce, reduced fat sour cream, nacho cheese sauce, and seasoned rice."

These Are The Old Favorites Taco Bell Is Bringing Back This Spring

A fried chalupa filled with a new spin on toppings, the Bacon Club Chalupa was first introduced by Taco Bell as a limited-time promotion at the end of 2020.

This time around, the chain is charging $4.99 for the item. Diners can also pay $8.99 for a combo deal that adds two Crunchy Tacos and a large beverage. The Chalupa comes with a tortilla shell stuffed with grilled chicken, bacon, lettuce, tomato, avocado ranch sauce, and a three-cheese blend.

The Double Steak-Grilled Cheese Burrito was also first released in August 2020 and periodically appeared on Taco Bell's menu. It will cost $3.49, although customers can add jalapeños and double protein for $5.99. The double burrito includes seasoned rice, red tortilla strips, nacho cheese sauce, chipotle sauce, sour cream, and a three-cheese blend. Once warmed, the tortilla is grilled with a three-cheese blend that's placed on top of the burrito.

Here's What Has Been Going On At Taco Bell

Unlike the other items, the Quesarito will only be available online or via the Taco Bell mobile app for $5.19.

All three items are only available for a limited time -- either mid-April or until supplies run out -- so time your run to a Taco Bell location accordingly.

This spring, Taco Bell has also been amping up its various combos, deals and promotions. In February, the chain announced that the "Cravings Trio" combo it was testing at some Ohio and Nebraska locations would be taken nationwide -- one could pick the Mexican Pizza, Crunchwrap Supreme, or Cheesy Gordita Crunch as a main alongside Doritos Locos Tacos and a medium-sized fountain drink.

Amid inflation, the average menu item at Taco Bell did get 14.6% more expensive -- from an average $2.94 in September 2021 to $3.37 in October 2022.
