Zoya Akhtar has once again returned to the director’s chair for the teen-musical comedy, The Archies. The highly awaited drama will mark the debut of not one, not two, but three-star kids, including Suhana Khan, Khushi Kapoor, and Agastya Nanda. Now, the makers have released the primary track from the flick titled Sunoh. The peppy number gives us an insight into the everyday life of the primary characters of the film. The song has Suhana Khan skating in Riverdale, Agastya Nanda singing, and Khushi Kapoor cycling her way through the fictitious town.

Sunoh has been scored by composer Ankur Tewari and The Islanders. The lyrics of the track have been provided by Javed Akhtar and Dot, whereas Tejas Menon and Shivam Mahadevan have lent their voice to Sunoh. Sharing the number with the fans on Instagram, Suhana Khan captioned the post, “I’m rockin’ and rollin’ past you… sunoh! Presenting #Sunoh, the first song from #TheArchies out now!”
The song looks like an attempt to introduce the vibe of every character.

Talking about the track, Zoya Akhtar was quoted saying they wished to capture the teenage soul of the 60s with the Sunoh track as their film is a celebration of that era. She added that the song had to invoke simplicity and nostalgia but with a twist of rebellion and idealism that Gen Z today would be able to relate to.

Aside from Agastya Nanda as Archie Andrews, Suhana Khan as Veronica Lodge, and Khushi Kapoor as Betty Cooper, the project will also see Mihir Ahuja as Jughead Jones, Vedang Raina as Reggie Mantle, Aditi “Dot” Saigal as Ethel Muggs, Yuvraj Menda as Dilton Doiley, Koel Purie as Hermione Lodge, and Tara Sharma as Mary Andrews.
Set in the captivating era of the 1960s, in the fictional hill town of Riverdale, the film is a cinematic adaptation of the popular comic book and cartoon of the same name. Financed by Netflix India, in association with Tiger Baby, Archie Comics, and Graphic India, The Archies is slated for premiere on Netflix on December 7 this year.
