The Rock is costing a new movie millions due to frustrating antics

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is a man of many hats.

He's one of the biggest actors in Hollywood, recently was a main event performer at WrestleMania, manages a role as the board member for TKO Holdings Group and is also a founder of the United Football League.

How does he manage all of it?

Well, a new report suggests that he's not doing that great of a job, and it's taking a negative effect on one of his upcoming movie projects.

The Wrap reported on April 30 that the movie "Red One" for Amazon MGM starring Johnson, Chris Evans, and J.K. Simmons has seen its budget increase over $250 million in part due to delays in production. The movie was set to release in Christmas 2023, but has been delayed to November of this year.

It was thought that 2023 SAG-AFTRA labor strikes were the cause for the delay, but the new report suggests that Johnson's antics — which include being late up to eight hours for shoots — has caused delays, significant added costs, and frustrated production staff.

The Wrap said that over a dozen sources explained that the production company, "Seven Bucks Productions," also lacks experience, which on top of Johnson's unprofessionalism, has led to the delays and cost increases.

A spokesperson for Amazon MGM denied the claims of Johnson's chronic lateness in a statement to The Wrap.

"Any reporting that implies that we got to this point with him showing up seven-eight hours late to set is both ridiculous and false," the spokesperson said to The Wrap.

Johnson's lateness reportedly contributed to $50 million in added costs for "Red One," with one of the report's insiders saying that the actor "truly doesn't give a f—k."

The start of production for the movie was reportedly delayed due to Johnson's other commitments like the "Young Rock" television series or the press tour for "Black Adam."

The report also pointed out that Johnson had shown his tardiness in his build up to WWE's WrestleMania as well. Johnson, who was a main event performer on the first night of the show and had been a weekly presence on WWE programming since January, reportedly even arrived late for the day of his main event match.

Johnson also was two hours late to a press event day in Philadelphia that took place days before WrestleMania, which frustrated fans, though he was able to play it off as part of the heel (or villain) character that he was portraying for the wrestling promotion.
