World Cup 2023: Glittering closing ceremony to headline India vs Australia final in Ahmedabad

The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Friday announced the full schedule of the closing ceremony of the 2023 Cricket World Cup, that will take place ahead of the final between India and Australia in Ahmedabad on Sunday.

The closing ceremony will be split into four parts. At 12.30 pm, an hour before the start of game, the Indian Air Force will conduct an air show , with a salute from the sky that has never been seen before.

There will also be live performances from music director Pritam, and his group of 500-plus dancers. That will be followed by a live performance of Dil Jashn Bole, the title song of the 2023 Cricket World Cup.

There will also be a half-time performance at the innings break. During this time, the Parade of Champions will take place, with all Cricket World Cup winning captains of the past will be honoured by the BCCI at the Narendra Modi Stadium, and that will be followed by the captains recounting their World Cup winning memories.

And during the second drinks break of the second innings, there will be a spectacular laser show, with the roof of the stadium being used as a canvas.

Fireworks can also be expected after the World Cup final, during the trophy lifting moment. Around 1200 drones will play a big part in lighting up the sky with an aerial display of the CHAMPIONS board.

That will be followed by some mesmerizing fireworks at the stadium to conclude the World Cup final.

While India defeated New Zealand by 70 runs in the first semi-final of the World Cup in Mumbai, Australia had to toil before battling past South Africa in the second semi-final in Kolkata.
