Delhi: With a little over a month to go for the 2024 Paris Olympics, the blueprint for the 2036 Games is also in the works. With India set to bid for the 2036 Olympics, there are reports that the nation could push for the inclusion of Yoga, Kabaddi, cricket, chess, squash and Kho-Kho. India could be a frontrunner if these disciplines are included in the Olympics.

The Sports Ministry of India has made these recommendations. Now it remains to be seen if these games actually get included in the Olympics or not and also if India wins the bid to host the 2036 event.

Meanwhile, in Paris, India would be sending their largest-ever contingent and hence the expectations would be high. India would be expecting medals from these individuals and disciplines. Neeraj Chopra, Mirabai Chanu, Vinesh Phogat, Sift Kaur Samra, Aditi Ashok, Nikhat Zareen, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy – Chirag Shetty, PV Sindhu, Men’s hockey team, Lovlina Borgohain.

The Summer Olympics, as it is popularly known, is set to start from July 26 and would continue till August 11.

There have already been reports of athletes wary of the heat they would encounter in the city of Paris during the Games.

Elaborating on the health risks, the experts released a report called “Rings of Fire”, to outline challenges faced by athletes regarding extreme heat, air pollution, food and water insecurity and lack of shade amid soaring temperatures. It would be interesting to see how do the athletes cope with the extreme conditions in Paris.
