It wouldn’t be an Amazon Prime Day without a record-breaking price for an Apple gadget, right? Well, Amazon certainly thinks so and has dropped the price of Apple’s brand new AirPods Pro second-generation with USB-C to a new all-time low of just $189.

These not only boast the new “Adaptive Audio” listening mode out of the box but also sport the universal USB-C port and improve durability with dust resistance. This new low of $189 bests the previous sale by $10 and results in an impressive $60 off for one of the newest Apple releases.

As the name suggests and our full review confirms, the main visible hardware change is the port on the charging case. Apple’s AirPods Pro now features a USB-C port instead of Lightning; ideally, you need to bring one less cable. For instance, if you have an iPhone 15, a Kindle, a MacBook Air, and AirPods Pro, one cable can charge them all.

A lengthy 1-meter USB-C to USB-C cable is in the box, and you can even plug one end into your iPhone 15 Pro and the other into AirPods Pro to charge them on the go. Pretty neat. The case can still be charged wirelessly through the MagSafe or Qi standards but can also be placed on an Apple Watch charger.

You can also ping the case or the individual left and right AirPods if they ever go missing via the FindMy app on your iOS, iPadOS, macOS, or watchOS devices, and there is a spot to attach a lanyard on the right hand side.

AirPods Pro themselves are still as compact as ever, and Apple includes four sizes of ear tips in the box to ensure you get a proper seal. You can squeeze or swipe on the stems to control playback, volume, and mute or unmute yourself while on a video call. Spatial Audio is fully supported here and the custom audio driver setup ensures excellent playback for any genre. Apple now packs three listening modes into AirPods Pro: the class-leading active noise cancellation and adaptive transparency modes are joined by Adaptive Audio, which seamlessly blends the two other modes together.

You do not need to remove AirPods Pro as much with this mode since they’ll intelligently switch between blocking or letting sounds in. It works quite well and is very impressive. Note, though, this is a free software update for any second-generation AirPods Pro model … including the Lightning case, which is also discounted to $189 at Amazon.

At just $189, AirPods Pro second-generation have never been cheaper, and if you’ve been eager to get the USB-C case, it’s an especially good time. By ordering now, you’ll likely beat the holiday rush, as AirPods Pro will likely be high on many holiday wishlists this year.
