The song has an Iranian origin and is inspired by the song Jamaal Jamaaloo. This song was redesigned by composer Harshvardhan Rameshwar for Animal. It was inspired by a poem of the same name by Iranian poet Bijan Smandar.

In an interview with senior film journalist and editor, Chaitanya Padukone, Shahnaaz revealed, “Both my grandparents belong to Iran and my grandma used to sing the original version of this same Jamaloo Kudu, Iranian song ever since I was a little kid. Since then, I know this song very well.”
In an exclusive interview with Firstpost, Bobby Deol told the portal about his now famous entry scene. “Sandeep Reddy Vanga told me about it in the beginning. He said there would be this tired and exhausted Ranbir who has lost it and the screen will change to your face smiling,” said the star.
