Bobby Deol opens up on 'Koffee With Karan 8' about being out of work, says 'I just gave up'

On the latest episode of Koffee With Karan 8, Karan Johar’s guests are going to be none other than Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol. The younger Deol made a lot of revelations on the couch and literally poured his heart out.

He spoke about the phase when he was out of work for four years from 2013 to 2017, and said, “I gave up, I started pitying myself. I just took on drinking a lot, I was sitting at home. I used to keep cursing and saying, why don’t people take me? I am good, why don’t they want to work with me? I think I became so negative about everything, that there was no positivity coming from me. I used to sit at home, my wife worked.”

His son’s reaction

The actor further revealed, “Suddenly I heard my son saying, you know mom, papa sits at home and you go to work everyday. Something snapped in me. I just said, no I can’t! It was a slow process, when I got out of it, it took me time to get into the right mind frame to become okay. It can’t happen overnight.”

On finding support from family

“My brother, my dad, my mom, my sisters, they were always there. You cannot always do anything holding someone’s hand. You have to walk on your two feet. Then things started changing. I became more focused, more serious and when you focus and you have that energy in you,” said the actor.

Work Front Post 2017

Post 2017, Bobby Deol has been seen in projects like Poster Boys, Race 3, Housefull 4, Aashram, Class Of 83, and Love Hostel. He now has Animal coming up, followed by Apne 2, a film by Kunal Kohli, and a film in the South.
