Deepika Padukone Breaks Silence on Baby Bump Trolling: “I Am Going…”

Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone has recently faced intense scrutiny and trolling on social media during her pregnancy. Expecting her first baby with actor-husband Ranveer Singh, Deepika has been subject to harsh comments ever since she stepped out to cast her vote, showing a baby bump. Some netizens went as far as calling her bump “fake.”

Despite the negative comments, Deepika took to her Instagram story on Thursday to inform her fans about an upcoming live session. She wrote, “Hi, I’m going live tomorrow… So stay tuned! Okay bye,” without giving further details. Fans are eager to see if Deepika will address the trolls in her live session.

On Wednesday, actor Alia Bhatt reacted in support of mom-to-be Deepika as she faced trolling over her baby bump after her recent appearance. On May 20, Deepika had stepped out to cast her vote in the fifth phase of Mumbai Lok Sabha Election 2024. However, she was trolled by a section of netizens who made some nasty comments on her baby bump. Amid the ongoing trolling of the actress on social media, a senior journalist, Faye D’Souza, penned a strongly-worded post on her official Instagram account and showed her solidarity with Deepika.

In her post, Faye wrote, “Dear social media, Deepika Padukone stepped out to do her democratic duty and vote. She did not ask for your feedback on her body or her pregnancy. You have no right to comment on any aspect of her life. Stop it. Behave.” Alia was quick to like the post. In fact, Alia’s sisters Pooja Bhatt and Shaheen Bhatt and her mother Soni Razdan liked the post too.
