Dell (DELL) has officially hopped on a growing trend in corporate The U. S. that employees may no longer be too fond of.

The tech giant sent a memo to its global sales team members on Sept. 26 informing them that their days of working remotely will come to an end contained in the following couple of days, in step with a new report from Business Insider.

“This Sales floor is a unique environment that combined high energy with a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement,” reads the memo. “To harness this energy and grow skills, we agree with our sales teams must be together contained in the place of business. Additionally, our data shows that sales teams are more productive when onsite.”

Dell claims that sales employees will likely be expected to come to the place of business 5 days a week, starting on Sept. 30, “no matter role.” Nonetheless it, the corporate states contained in the memo that faraway sales team members who are unable to work in a Dell place of business location should continue to work remotely, but “more communications touching on faraway workers will likely be sent contained in the drawing near weeks.”

With that in mind, starting Monday, Sept. 30, the expectation is that ALL Global Sales team members who can work from a Dell place of business be onsite 5 days a week, no matter role. Field sellers are expected to spend 5 days a week with customers and partners or in a Dell Technologies place of business. Field sellers who cannot go into a Dell place of business should prioritize time spent in person with customers and partners. Faraway sales team members who cannot go into a Dell place of business should continue to work remotely. More communications touching on faraway workers will likely be sent contained in the drawing near weeks.

Yes, which is a shift from current expectations. The industry and technology are moving fast, the opportunity is enormous and we must always make sure that we are best positioned to clutch it. We know situations will arise while you wish to work remotely. Which is predicted, but working remotely must be the exception in place of routine.
