Emmys 2024: Bob Odenkirk's Better Call Saul sets gloomy record for most snubs ever with 53 nominations & zero win

Bob Odenkirk and Rhea Seehorn starrer Better Call Saul will officially end its sixth season again without bagging a Primetime Emmy. The show was snubbed yet again at Monday’s ceremony, which was at its 75th edition.

Till now, The acclaimed Breaking Bad spin-off, Better Call Saul has garnered a whopping 53 nominations at the Emmys but failed to win a single award. Contradictory, Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul starrer Breaking Bad has bagged 16 Emmys during five seasons from 2008-2013 including best drama series twice.

In this edition, Better Call Saul garnered nominations in three categories – Drama Series – but lost to Succession, Best Actor in a Drama Series for Bob Odenkirk who plays lawyer & former scammer Jimmy McGill / Saul Goodman / Gene Takavic- who lost to Kieran Culkin for Succession, and Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for Rhea Seehorn as Kim Wexler, who lost out to Jennifer Coolidge for The White Lotus.

Before the latest edition of the Emmys, Seehorn spoke about the possibility of ending the show without winning an award and told The Hollywood Reporter, “I think at this point, we all truly feel proud of the work we created and (co-creator, finale writer-director)Peter Gould, even if I wasn’t on this show, nailed the final season and the finale and that’s a really hard thing to do. I guess I’d be lying if I didn’t say, who doesn’t want to run up on stage and go. Thanks for recognizing our last time out here.’ But I have a feeling we’ll feel that way about our show no matter what.”
