Gurucharan Singh’s 51st Birthday: TMKOC Actor’s Father Awaits His Return: ‘Kash Wo…’

It has been days since Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’s actor Gurucharan Singh went missing. Amid his missing, May 12, 2024, marked Gurucharan Singh’s 51st birthday. On his birthday, Singh’s father expressed his agony over his son’s disappearance. He said, “We hope he returns home soon.” Gurucharan Singh was last seen in Delhi’s Palam area. The actor was in the national capital to celebrate his father’s birthday and was supposed to catch a flight. However, the actor never made it to the aircraft. 

In a conversation with Telly Talk, Hargit Singh sounded worried as he said that there was no new information on his son’s case. Hargit Singh said, “We are all very worried. I hope he returns home soon. My health is also not well. What should we do now?” Later, when the actor’s father was asked what Gurucharan usually used to do on his birthday. To this, his father said, “Chance ki baat hai  (that depended). In normal circumstances, he would have come back in a day or two and probably celebrated his birthday with us here.”

The actor’s father also said, “He (Gurucharan Singh) was here on my birthday (April 21) and the next day he was supposed to fly to Mumbai. He told me, main aa jaunga. 1-2 din me aa jaunga.’ After that, we don’t know what happened. Kuch pata hi nahi chal raha hai.” Singh’s father also revealed that the actor does look a bit troubled. “Pareshan to vo lagta tha lekin kabhi batat nahi tha (He used to look troubled but he never told us what was bothering him.” 

When Gurucharn Singh’s father was asked whether anyone from the TMKOC team contacted them yet, he said, “They all know about his disappearance. They keep commenting too, my daughter-in-law shows it to me on her phone. Gurucharan was very famous in Mumbai, he earned a lot of respect.” 

Meanwhile, the family complained to the Delhi Police, prompting an investigation under section 365 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) for abduction. Singh disappeared on April 22 at 9:14 PM, as revealed by CCTV footage released on April 27. 

Gurucharan Singh, famed as Roshan Singh Sodhi in the long-standing sitcom Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, was scheduled to fly from Delhi to Mumbai at 8:30 PM on April 22. As per a police officer, Singh’s financial situation was precarious due to numerous loans and debts.
