Between 2020 and 2021, when the globe was collectively under lockdown due to the Covid-19 pandemic, films were largely being viewed on televisions and mobile phones. Post 2022, when cinema halls reopened, it was a euphoric feeling for all film buffs.
What’s National Cinema Day?
The Multiplex Association of India decided to celebrate National Cinema Day to mark the occasion of the reopening of cinema halls and celebrating the joy of fans and film exhibitors and distributors that faced losses during the pandemic. To accommodate higher footfalls, ticket prices were subsidized that only led to packed shows all over.
Last year, the occasion was celebrated on September 23 and films like Brahmastra, Chup: Revenge of the Artist, Dhokha Round D Corner reaped benefits of the same. This year, it’s being celebrated on October 13. This time, it’s films like Mission Raniganj, 800, Jawan.
